Neighbourhood Partnerships
The Flanagan Review of Policing identified the need for neighbourhood policing to be more closely integrated with neighbourhood management.
In order to progress this, we have been working alongside the Improvement and Development Agency for Local Government (IDeA), and have identified twelve 'Exemplar Sites', each offering joint service delivery solutions in a range of formats, and covering a wide cross-section of the neighbourhood areas in England and Wales.
Selected on the basis of their strong partnership working practices, the twelve Exemplars will provide a practical and supporting role to other areas.
Over the next 12 months each site has agreed to share their experiences and knowledge of neighbourhood management with neighbourhood policing teams and crime and disorder partnerships from across the country. Examples of success will be shared with forces via case studies and through our network of field officers.
As well as being available via email and phone to assist with queries, site visits can be arranged to the Exemplars so that other areas can learn directly from these established sites.
